About us
Hungry Dinosaur started with a song for a little boy. It grew into a small team of family and friends making cartoons, songs and stories for young children.
How it started
Two years ago, Pedro’s son asked for a song. That’s how Hungry Dinosaur began.
Pedro came up with something, recorded a voice note on his phone, then parked it for months. He didn’t imagine how many people around them would eventually become part of it.
Their neighbour Jade May Lin joined Pedro and his wife, Laura Ovalles, and gradually they started taking it further.
They recorded everything at home, in their son’s bedroom. Then they had to figure out how to actually release it.
Laura taught herself to animate and edit the videos with the help of AI. They started learning how to use YouTube properly too.
One thing kept leading to another. Every step brought something new to learn. They’ve been fitting it around everything else, with limited time and plenty to figure out. But the process of learning and making it together has been fascinating.
Who’s making it
- Jade May Lin — sings and appears in the videos with Hungry Dinosaur.
- Laura Ovalles — animation and video editing.
- Pedro Lopez — stories, music and the original song (including ukulele).
- Oscar Almonte — joining the team; Pedro’s guitar teacher when he was a teenager.
It’s a very homegrown thing. Each of them puts some of their time and something of themselves into it.
